Writing Is Not My Cup Of Tea - 1215 Words

Writing, the simple word that sends most kids running for the door. I don’t necessarily run, but writing is definitely not my cup of tea. A good piece of writing usually doesn’t have my name written on it because it’s a good piece of writing. It has perfect grammar and spelling and the commas are in their right places. Good writing isn’t just about the basics, though. It’s about how things move together and how there is a perfect balance of long and short sentences. A good piece of writing is supposed to make the audience feel something. My â€Å"good† pieces of writing aren’t as special as what I just explained. I can at least have my commas in the right place, but making my audience feel something? That’s a whole other story. Most of the time, I don’t even feel something when I write. I just write words down because I think they sound good. When I think I’ve written something good, it’s usually a research paper. It’s usually facts that I can find and write in my own way. I can enhance what’s already written so average minded people can understand it. When I’ve written something good, I can feel it inside me and I know that no matter whom I ask to read it, they would agree. This class was not completely chosen by me. I knew I wanted to take a class that would augment my ability to write. I wanted to become the writer that is inside all of us. The little person that knows all of the words and knows exactly what to put on the page without even thinking.
